FEDERAL BUDGET PROPOSALS 2011-12

The Institute has been submitting proposals for the Federal Budget every year for more than a decade. The Committee on Taxation has considered that the Institute be proactively involved in the budgetary process in order to address the national issues of low tax to GDP ratio, resource mobilization, anomalies in the relevant laws and issues faced by the taxpayers at large. The Committee has, therefore decided that, representation be made to present the ICAP budget proposals to the Standing Committees on Finance of the Senate and the National Assembly, Ministry of Finance and the Federal Board of Revenue.

The Committee is currently in the process of developing Budget proposals for the year 2011-2012. Members are requested to send their valuable suggestions and recommendations to the Directorate of Technical Services at dtscomments@icap.org.pk latest by December 31, 2010. It would be helpful if the suggestions are sent with proper reference to the Sections/Clauses of the Direct/Indirect taxation laws, rational thereof and recommendations, in MS Word format.
